GRANT SUPPORTS SPIRITUALITY AND MENTORING THROUGH VISUAL ART AND VIDEO
An institution supported by the Diocese of Texas, St. Vincent's House has provided social services to the underserved in Galveston, Texas since 1954. WelCare Initiative Education and Outreach Coordinator Matt Stanford, produces videos to help teach clients about health issues. Stanford also provides an unfunded mentoring program, Stage Right Productions, teaching at-risk youth video scripting, directing, taping and editing.

The Visio Divina grant provides resources for the youth to produce a visual prelude for the diocese's annual convention and a short documentary featuring the Episcopal churches and ministries in Galveston for viewing by clergy, delegates and visitors from 156 churches in February 2008.  The prelude will incorporate art from new ECVA members across the diocese.
